With above-average food for an all-inclusive (especially for an all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic) and strong beach and pool areas, this Dreams property is a great overall resort and value and caters well to both families and couples with a plethora of activities. The fitness center is just so-so, timeshare sales pitches can be pushy (avoid the breakfast if you’re not interested), and there isn’t much in terms of off-site shops and restaurants within walking distance; but the resort offers a nice white-sand beach with plenty of palm trees and palapas for shade, excellent on-site restaurant variety, separate kids and teens clubs, a babysitting service, an on-site casino, a theater with nightly shows, a good spa, a weekly market with local handicrafts and art, and tastefully decorated rooms with modern amenities. Many accommodations have ocean views, some have outdoor jacuzzis, and none are very far from the beach. Upgrading to Preferred Club status includes access to private lounge and pool areas (including adults only areas), special concierge service, upgraded mini bar and bath amenities, pillow and linen fragrance menus, and complimentary movies and newspapers. Activities include dance classes, horseback riding, Spanish lessons, yoga classes, windsurfing, kayaking, scuba diving and snorkeling excursions, catamaran trips to nearby Saona Island, water skiing, and big-screen movies on the beach.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
