An economical but somewhat upscale kid-themed option on the south end of the Hotel Zone, the all-inclusive Seadust Cancun Family Resort caters well to families, especially those with younger children. The rooms and some of the common areas are beginning to show some slight wear, there’s no swim-up bar, the food is mostly mediocre, and the pool area and other common areas can be crowded; but the property offers a beautiful white-sand beach with ample space (this factor has a strong positive effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating, raising it to the upper B range), outstanding dining variety (10 restaurants and 10 bars to choose from), separate kids and teens clubs, a three-tiered infinity pool overlooking the beach, a babysitting service, an excellent fitness center, and strong spa facilities. There’s also a great kids water park with a castle, water slides, and a pirate ship. The Family Suites are equipped with built-in bunk beds and the Sunset and Ocean Front Suites both have spacious balconies with outdoor jacuzzis. The Club Suites also have jacuzzis, but they’re not outside and the balconies are smaller. There are adults-only areas throughout the property as well, including a rooftop pool; these areas tend to be significantly more quiet. Activities include mini-golf (there’s a legitimate mini-golf course), parasailing, beach volleyball, and various tours that can be booked through the front desk.
