An adults-only (16 years and over) property with a relaxed vibe and well above average food for an all-inclusive, Galley Bay Resort & Spa is a great choice for couples and honeymooners. It’s also set on one of Antigua’s most beautiful beaches (it’s not very wide by Caribbean standards, but certainly large by Antigua standards). The white-sand beach is also clean, quiet, and ideal for sunsets since it’s on the western side of the island. Some of the accommodations aren’t overly plush for the price range, but most suites are directly on the beach (this factor helps the Room Quality score a good amount, elevating it from the B range to the A range – and the ones that aren’t directly on the beach, named the Gauguin Suites, are more modern and have private plunge pools). Room amenities include outdoor rinse showers, private balconies or patios, beach towels, HD smart TVs, ceiling fans, coffee machines, and walk-in closets. Other resort amenities/activities include a natural-looking swimming pool with a multi-tiered waterfall surrounded by palm trees, private dinners on the beach, a rum tasting bar, nightly live island music, a beachfront yoga pavilion, movies on the beach under the stars, cooking classes, and weekly managers’ cocktail parties. Water sports on the beach are included (kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, and Hobie Cat sailing).
The government of Antigua and Barbuda mandates that guests arriving by air must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within seven (7) days of their flight. Departure COVID-19 testing is available on-site, but it isn’t complimentary. The antigen test costs $60 USD. In the event of a positive test, guests can extend their stay for up to 14 nights at an all-inclusive rate of $550 USD per night.
