One of the most luxurious, exclusive resorts in the entire Caribbean, Jumby Bay Island, an Oetker Collection hotel, is actually situated on its own 300-acre island, just off the coast of Antigua, and is only reachable by boat. As all-inclusive resorts go, it’s in a class of its own. The service here is extraordinary and the food is excellent (there are four on-site dining options). Rates can be high and the two beach areas are somewhat narrow; but both beaches are quiet and private, which adds to their white-sand allure significantly. The accommodations are the best of the best; all come with private outdoor gardens with rain showers, and the Pool Suites and Estate Suites also have private pools. Exceptional villas with private pools and up to four bedrooms are also available, as are full homes (the full homes are in the “Private Residences” category). Other amenities include top-of-the-line tennis courts, a good fitness center, useful bicycles for guests to navigate the resort and island (there are no cars on the island), a yoga and meditation pavilion, and a beautiful spa that leverages ingredients grown in the resort gardens. There’s a kids club for ages 3-11 plus activities for teens; all kids and teens can also experience a turtle nesting and hatchling release into the sea via the Hawksbill Turtle Program, on Pasture Bay Beach. Water sports such as water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, snorkeling tours, scuba diving trips, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, and outstanding sailing are available as well.
The government of Antigua and Barbuda mandates that guests arriving by air must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within seven (7) days of their flight. Departure COVID-19 testing is available on-site, but it isn’t complimentary.
