Located on a peninsula, the all-inclusive St. James’s Club & Villas has two beach areas: one on the protected bay side and one on the open ocean side. With more on-site activities than most resorts in Antigua, it’s a good option for families. There isn’t much in the area in terms of off-site shops and restaurants and the beach on the ocean side can get windy; but the resort offers excellent on-site scuba diving, four quality tennis courts (with lights for night play), nicely furnished guest rooms, six swimming pools (most are small), four restaurants including The Docksider (notable for its charming bay views), and non-motorized water sports equipment on the beach. The alluring spa offers outdoor treatments with an idyllic, ocean view setting. Sailing cruises, fishing trips, beach volleyball, and snorkeling are available on-site, too. Rooms come with dark wood furnishings, flat-screen TVs, and private balconies or patios; the Beachfront Rooms are the most spacious, equipped with two full beds (on the ground floor) or one king bed and cathedral-style ceilings (on the upper floor).
The government of Antigua and Barbuda mandates that guests arriving by air must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within seven (7) days of their flight. Departure COVID-19 testing is available on-site, but it isn’t complimentary. The antigen test costs $60 USD. In the event of a positive test, guests can extend their stay for up to 14 nights at an all-inclusive rate of $350 USD per night.
