Resort Profile

A good lower-mid-range option in the Bahamas, the all-inclusive Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach caters well to families with a large beach and affordable rates. On-site dining variety is mediocre for an all-inclusive (there are four restaurants including the buffet), the food is fairly lackluster, and there’s no swim-up bar or spa; but the property offers an excellent white-sand beach area with plenty of space (the beach is the resort’s main highlight, upgrading the Overall Beach Resort Rating into the middle B range), a highly unique oceanfront trapeze, a kids club, a decent fitness center (not much cardio equipment, but there’s a bench press and some other equipment that doesn’t come standard in hotel gyms, including a squat rack), a small on-site grocery and souvenir store, and a mostly interactive/social overall atmosphere. The rooms are basic, but they come with island-style wicker furniture, all-cotton bedding, True Blue bath amenities, coffee/tea makers, and balconies or terraces. Activities include dance classes, tennis, nightly entertainment and themed parties, trapeze lessons, archery, and Hobie Cat sailing. The property is somewhat isolated, so there isn’t much within walking distance in terms of shops, restaurants, and nightlife.

Departure COVID-19 testing is available on-site, for a fee.

Everyone traveling to The Bahamas must obtain a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR (swab) test taken no more than five days prior to the date of arrival. The day the test is taken is considered Day Zero. Test must return a negative result for entry into The Bahamas. Children 10 and under are not required to take a test. Negative PCR test results must be uploaded in order to complete a Bahamas Health Visa application, and must be presented upon arrival in The Bahamas.
