One of the most economical beachfront options in the San Jose del Cabo area, the Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos caters well to families. The ocean is too rough for swimming (because of the undertow; this is a common issue in the area, and has a negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating), the rooms are fairly basic, and premium alcohol comes with an extra charge; but the resort offers three swimming pools (including a nice infinity pool overlooking the property’s spacious beach), a swim-up bar, strong restaurant variety, rooms with balconies and minibars, a small on-site spa, a good beach volleyball court, a fun entertainment staff, and an airport shuttle. A good selection of off-site shops and restaurants is available within walking distance in the town’s historic center, which also has some nightlife and sightseeing. The hotel’s 350 rooms and suites are spread across three buildings (Luna, Estrella, and Torre Sol); all come with private balconies, two double beds or one king bed, coffee makers, satellite TV, and air conditioning with individual control. Activities include jet skiing, fishing, and horseback riding, among others.
On-site COVID-19 testing is offered prior to departure, but it isn’t complimentary.
