One of the newest and most upscale resorts in Jamaica, Breathless Montego Bay impresses with sleek amenities and a lively atmosphere; the adults-only, all-inclusive property opened in 2017 and caters well to couples and singles. The only major negative here is that the relatively average beach is across the street at the neighboring Secrets property and not directly on-site; this factor has a very strong negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating, lowering it from the middle A range to the upper B range. The spa and fitness facilities are also over at Secrets (in addition to the beach, spa, and fitness center, guests have access to all amenities of Secrets St. James and Secrets Wild Orchid next door). The Breathless property, however, offers a luxurious main pool area with comfortable lounge chairs and day beds, a rooftop pool with a second swim-up bar, six on-site restaurants with good food for an all-inclusive, DJs and foam parties, fire pits, and chic accommodations. Rooms are equipped with large flat-screen TVs, Gilchrist & Soames bath amenities, in-suite tablets that allow guests to control everything from the lighting to the curtains, and balconies with jacuzzis. Upgrading to the “xhale” Club Suites comes with extra perks like butler service, an upgraded minibar, exclusive daytime access to the rooftop pool (other guests need to wait until the evening) and access to the Preferred Club at Secrets next door. Activities include kayaking, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling tours, scuba diving, water skiing, parasailing, deep sea fishing, glass bottom boat tours, banana boat rides, and a variety of yoga classes. The Hard Rock Café is also easily within walking distance.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
