One of Montego Bay’s most luxurious resorts, the adults-only, all-inclusive Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall opened in 2014 and caters well to couples with impressive accommodations and excellent overall service. The somewhat rocky beach is manmade and on the small side (this factor has a negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating, downgrading it from the upper A range to the lower A range); but the property offers a trendy swimming pool area, an outstanding spa with beautiful oceanside treatment rooms and in-room treatments, a great fitness center with plenty of natural light and good equipment, unique fitness facilities such as an aqua gym and underwater spin bikes, oceanfront fire pits, private poolside or beach cabanas available for rent, and quality food for an all-inclusive with top-notch restaurant variety. The state-of-the-art guest rooms come with soothing décor, comfortable beds, large flat-screen TVs, 24-hour room service, and furnished balconies or terraces. Swim-up Suites and Butler Suites are also available; upon checking into the Butler Suites, guests receive a cell phone for direct contact with their personal butler. Activities include dance lessons, cooking classes, nightly music and entertainment, beachside yoga, kayaking, and sailing. The concierge can help book sightseeing tours and other excursions as well. The beautiful, PGA-caliber Half Moon Golf Course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. is just across the street. The Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall (A2) next door shares some amenities (it’s where most of the restaurants are located, for example) and welcomes families with children. The rooms at the Zilara are a little better, which is why its Overall Beach Resort Rating is one notch higher than the Ziva’s.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are available for guests returning to the United States (minimum three-night stay required to qualify). In the event of a positive test, the resort offers up to a 50% discount for guests needing to quarantine until recovery, for up to 14 days (extended stays for up to 14 days are complimentary for guests that enroll in the resort’s Extended Stay protection program for $29 per person upon check-in).
