Opened in 2017, Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach is one of Jamaica’s newest all-inclusive beach resorts; it’s just a few minutes from Sangster International Airport and caters well to a mix of families, couples, and singles with a social atmosphere. Airplane noise can be noticeable, the gym is at the sister property next door, there’s no swim-up bar, and lounge chairs and palapas on the beach can be difficult to reserve at peak times of year; but the property offers clean and modern rooms with attractive Caribbean accents, a sleek swimming pool, a nice beach for the area (despite being a little on the small side), massage cabins with ocean views, and a great staff and entertainment team. The fitness center (next door) has limited equipment, but there’s a bench press, which is somewhat unique for a basic hotel gym. Rooms are equipped with minibars, flat-screen TVs, and balconies or terraces; all rooms have ocean views. Activities include kayaking, sailing, tennis (with lessons), dance classes, live reggae music at night, glass bottom boat rides, snorkeling, yoga classes, archery, bocce, badminton, and other beach games (there’s a beach volleyball court next door, too). Excursions to Dunn’s River Falls and other attractions can be arranged. Guests have access to all facilities and restaurants of Royal Decameron Montego Beach (Ca1) next door. The shops, restaurants, and other attractions of Montego Bay’s Hip Strip are within walking distance.
On-site COVID-19 testing is not available, but the front desk can help facilitate departure testing with a local lab.
