Arguably Jamaica’s best beach resort in terms of overall quality, the renowned Jamaica Inn is situated on Jamaica’s best and most pristine private white-sand beachfront. With impeccable service since 1950, the boutique hotel often welcomes back repeat guests. The 48 suites and cottages lack TVs and radios (a pro for some), the pool is very small and lacks a swim-up bar (the subpar pool is the only factor keeping the Overall Beach Resort Rating below Aaa; there’s only one Aaa beach resort on the island, by the way – the couples-only Sandals South Coast in White House, Jamaica), activities are limited, the fitness center is very lackluster, and there isn’t much going on at night; but the resort offers one of Jamaica’s most tranquil atmospheres, an impeccable oceanfront spa with a variety of treatments and locally sourced ingredients, an excellent open-air restaurant, room service, and complimentary welcome drinks. The suites and cottages come with private balconies or verandahs, breakfast tables, writing desks, air conditioning, ceiling fans, mini-fridges stocked upon request, and ocean views from all rooms. The cottages are especially upscale and spacious; some have private infinity pools. Activities include kayaking, sailing, paddleboarding, on-site snorkeling, croquet, afternoon tea, private beach dining, rum tastings and tours, and weekly managers’ cocktail parties. Other activities such as horseback riding and windsurfing are available in the vicinity.
On-site COVID-19 antigen testing is available by appointment for all guests prior to departure.
