Among the most peaceful, luxurious resorts in the Caribbean, the romantic, Aaa-rated Zoetry Agua Punta Cana caters very well to couples and honeymooners. Kids are allowed, but the atmosphere isn’t ideal for families. The property’s isolated location adds to the tranquil vibe, but it’s a longer ride from the airport than most resorts in the area (about 49 minutes). There isn’t much going on at night and some guests complain of mosquitoes; but the resort offers impeccable service, a quiet, quality beachfront (the sand is golden, not soft powder-white, which has a slight negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating – but not enough to take the resort out of the Aaa range), top-shelf liquor, sparkling wine and fresh fruit delivered daily, one of the Dominican Republic’s best spas (one free massage is included), an on-site sommelier, two long and winding swimming pools plus an alluring swim-up bar, and four excellent restaurants (especially for an all-inclusive) with organic options (and no buffets – all are a la carte). The 96 suites come with cathedral ceilings, butler service, thatched palapa roofs, hardwood floors, deep soaking tubs, Bulgari bath amenities, stone accents, bottles of rum or tequila, and locally-made beach bags upon check-in; the newest rooms include swim-out access. Activities include free horseback riding on the beach, excellent yoga classes (Flow, Gentle, Hatha), cigar-making classes, snorkeling, wine tasting, painting classes, dance and cooking classes, kayaking, kitesurfing, Hobie Cat sailing, scuba diving, and fishing.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
