Part of the massive five-section Iberostar Paraiso resort complex between Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen, the family-friendly Paraiso Beach (Ba1) is one of two more economical sections, along with the identical Paraiso Del Mar (Ba1). Its other three immediate neighbors include the more luxurious Grand Paraiso (Aa1) section (adults only), and the mid-range Paraiso Lindo (Baa2) and Paraiso Maya (Baa2) sections. Some rooms are a long walk from the beach (the section is long and narrow, perpendicular to the shore; a shuttle is available), the food is just mediocre overall, the rooms are somewhat basic and dated, and guests only have access to the facilities of the Beach and Del Mar sections (not the others); but the resort offers a strong beach area, an enormous central swimming pool, an on-site P.B. Dye-designed golf course, a bar and grill right on the beach, evening entertainment, quality spa and fitness facilities, a nightclub, a kids club, and an on-site ice cream shop. Other activities include scuba diving, jet skiing, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, archery, dance and cooking classes, yoga and spin classes, and wine tasting. An entertainment team keeps activities going throughout the day.
Free COVID-19 antigen tests are available on-site for all guests returning to the United States. PCR tests are also offered for a fee.
