An economical, kid-friendly option on the Dutch side of the island on its own private peninsula, Divi Little Bay Beach Resort is within walking distance of Philipsburg’s shops and restaurants (Philipsburg is the capital of the Dutch side) and is a good value for families. The food gets mixed reviews, the beach can harbor vendors, and the disappointing fitness center doesn’t have much; but the property offers a fairly strong beach area, three swimming pools with ocean views (one has an infinity edge), a swim-up bar, an outdoor fire pit, five restaurants plus a café, on-site grocery and gift shops, a kids club for ages 4-12, and a very good spa with outdoor treatments and hot stone and deep tissue massages. The clean, somewhat modern rooms are high quality for the price; they come with large flat-screen TVs and private balconies or patios, and the suites (studios and one bedroom suites are available) have full kitchens with stainless steel appliances and living/dining rooms. Most accommodations have ocean views. Activities include scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, windsurfing, nightly entertainment, beach volleyball (on a subpar court), kayaking, and boating excursions. All-inclusive plans are available but not obligatory.
The resort provides on-site COVID-19 antigen testing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3pm to 6pm in the hospitality room. The cost is $80 per person.
