A massive all-inclusive resort complex on Punta Cana’s renowned Bavaro beach, the Barcelo Bavaro Palace is a great value overall (the TripValue here is +3, which is excellent) and caters to a mix of families, couples and singles. The adults-only sister property next door is also popular among couples (the Barcelo Bavaro Beach, rated Baa1), but most of the complex’s amenities are located at the Palace. The sprawling property can be difficult to navigate on foot and the food receives mixed reviews. The restaurants here are definitely above average for a Dominican all-inclusive, though, and offer outstanding cuisine variety. Other features include an excellent beach area with plenty of palm trees for shade, baseball and soccer fields (highly unique), modern rooms with 32-inch flat-screen TVs and rainfall showers, a 24-hour casino, an impressive seven tennis courts, a large main swimming pool area, a water park with slides for kids, and an acclaimed on-site golf course designed by Pete Dye. There’s also an on-site spa and a fitness center with spin bikes and a good amount of space. Activities include catamaran and snorkeling excursions, jet boat rides, party boats, deep sea fishing, and more.
On-site COVID-19 testing is offered prior to departure, but it isn’t complimentary.
