A low-priced, family-friendly all-inclusive option, this Barcelo hotel offers family suites with large balconies. Downtown Puerto Vallarta isn’t nearby, the beach is very small (this has a strong negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating), there’s an extra charge for Wi-Fi, and the on-site restaurants are below average (even by all-inclusive standards); but the property offers four swimming pools (one has a unique hot tub island, another has a swim-up bar), a tennis court, a kids club for ages 5-12, and other kid-friendly features such as slides and a game room with ping pong, billiards, and foosball. Rooms come with one king or two double beds, living rooms with sofa beds, furnished balconies, and air conditioning with individual control. Activities include dance classes, cooking classes, cocktail master classes, and water sports such as jet skiing. There are a couple of off-site restaurants in the surrounding neighborhood of Mismaloya, but not much else.
On-site COVID-19 testing is offered prior to departure, but it isn’t complimentary.
