Resort Profile

Surrounded by the abundant shops, restaurants, and nightlife of downtown Nassau, the British Colonial Hilton Nassau caters to a mix of couples, families, singles, and business travelers; it’s a landmark hotel, often hosting some of Nassau’s most important events. It’s also downtown Nassau’s only beachfront option. The manmade beach is decidedly below average by Bahamas standards (and feels busy, with cruise ship traffic), the swimming pool is basic and small for the size of the hotel, the rooms are somewhat dated, some guests complain about the service and/or general cleanliness of the hotel, and there’s no swim-up bar; but the property offers relatively affordable rates, a decent fitness center, boats for rent, three on-site restaurants, a babysitting service, and ample meeting space for corporate events. Rooms come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, marble bathrooms, comfortable beds, quality work desks, and ocean or city views. Activities include beach volleyball (on a subpar court), snorkeling tours, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and watching the massive cruise ships come into port. Shops, restaurants, grocery stores, museums (such as the Pompey Museum and the Pirates of Nassau Museum) and nightlife spots (such as Señor Frogs next door) abound in the immediate vicinity. The Nassau Bahamas Cruise Terminal is easily within walking distance.

Everyone traveling to The Bahamas must obtain a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR (swab) test taken no more than five days prior to the date of arrival. The day the test is taken is considered Day Zero. Test must return a negative result for entry into The Bahamas. Children 10 and under are not required to take a test. Negative PCR test results must be uploaded in order to complete a Bahamas Health Visa application, and must be presented upon arrival in The Bahamas.
