Canto Del Sol Plaza Vallarta is a decent budget all-inclusive option for families, especially tennis enthusiasts. The beachfront is small and lackluster (this factor has a very strong negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating, downgrading it from the lower B range to the lower C range), the rooms are somewhat dated, and the food fails to impress; but the property offers an outstanding tennis club with a resident pro and eight courts (four outdoor clay courts and four indoor hard courts), nightly shows, dance lessons, and a nice swim-up bar. Kayaking is available on-site, but other water sports are lacking. A great selection of off-site shops and restaurants is available within walking distance.
