The fact that COCOS Antigua is situated on an outstanding beachfront (it’s probably the best on the island, narrowly edging out Galley Bay’s with perfect white sand and alluring turquoise water) helps its Overall Beach Resort Rating significantly; the fact that it’s just a 3.5-star hotel, however, keeps the rating below the upper A range. The adults-only (couples-only, actually), all-inclusive boutique resort certainly has other things going for it besides the beach. Its decidedly romantic vibe is accentuated by its rustic cottage accommodations sprinkled along a verdant tropical hillside; they come with private infinity-edge plunge pools (in the Sunset Pool Cottages, which are recommended), outdoor rain showers, and balconies with hammocks and spectacular ocean views. Other features include a nice open-air restaurant overlooking the ocean, bars by the pool and beach, a wonderful staff, live nightly entertainment, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Scuba diving and sailing charters are available in close proximity at Jolly Harbour.
The government of Antigua and Barbuda mandates that guests arriving by air must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within seven (7) days of their flight. Departure COVID-19 testing is available on-site, but it isn’t complimentary (unless your stay is at least five nights and you book directly with the hotel; otherwise, the antigen test fee is $350 USD per couple).
