Featuring a very large, winding, lagoon-style swimming pool that meanders its way through verdant, palm tree-laden grounds with flamingos and other wildlife, the economical Dreams Punta Cana caters well to both couples and families. The rooms are on the tired side (and some are a little bit of a walk from the beach), the atmosphere isn’t ideal for those looking for an abundance of peace and quiet, and there aren’t any off-site shops or restaurants within walking distance; but the resort offers above-average food for an all-inclusive (especially for an all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic), a good beach with palapas and Bali beds, excellent dining variety, a fun entertainment team that keeps activities going throughout the day, and a great swim-up bar. The swimming pool is one of the largest in the Caribbean. Other perks include a spacious fitness center, live shows, a babysitting service, a small on-site casino, separate kids and teens clubs, and a spa. Activities are plentiful; they include horseback riding, scuba diving, parasailing, snorkeling excursions, party boat rides, speed boat rides, sailing, kayaking, yoga classes, dance classes, rum tastings, cooking classes, and windsurfing, to name a few.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
