Set on a secluded stretch of impeccable white-sand beach just north of the Mayan ruins at Tulum, this Dreams property is quieter than most in the all-inclusive resort chain and caters well to both families and couples with plenty to do. There aren’t any off-site shops or restaurants within walking distance and some of the property shows slight wear and tear; but the resort offers charming colonial architecture, a nice spa with a hydrotherapy circuit and Mayan Temazcal ceremonies, good food for an all-inclusive, outstanding cuisine variety, above average kids and teens clubs, small waterslides for kids, and quality accommodations. Activities include yoga on the beach, big screen movies on the beach, beach volleyball, on-site snorkeling (snorkeling excursions can also be booked), scuba diving, Hobie Cat sailing, kayaking, competitive beach games, dance classes, and a unique on-site “street food festival” with local vendors weekly. Greens fees at a nearby golf course are complimentary, and guests can witness sea turtles hatching on the beach from July through December. One restaurant (French) is adults-only, as are some rooms and suites in a quieter garden section of the resort. Swim-out suites are also available.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
