Formerly the Tropicana Aruba, the Eagle Aruba Resort & Casino is one of the island’s most affordable options; it caters well to families on a budget. Some rooms are dated and the fitness center doesn’t have much; but the property offers one of the island’s best casinos (recently refurbished), a solid on-site spa, unique beach tennis courts, and a very nice pool area with a quality waterslide, a good swim-up bar, and waterfalls. One-, two-, and three-bedroom units are available. Water sports such as parasailing, jet skiing, and scuba diving are available in the immediate vicinity. The beach (Eagle Beach) is quite nice, but there’s another resort (La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino) and a busy road between the property and the sand; this has a negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating, downgrading it from the B range to the upper C range. For those that don’t mind the walk, or prefer the pool, Eagle Aruba can be a good option for the price. A free beach shuttle is also provided.
On-site COVID-19 PCR tests are available for $100 per guest. Results are returned in 24 hours. In the event of a positive test, the island’s mandatory COVID-19 insurance will cover designated accommodation costs until recovery.
