A romantic, high-end property in Los Cabos, Esperanza caters well to couples and honeymooners. While the jagged coastline is picturesque, the beach is small and the ocean is rocky and too rough for swimming because of the undertow (this has a strong negative effect on the TripValue and Overall Beach Resort Rating, downgrading the latter from the upper A range to the lower A range). However, the luxurious resort offers a beautiful two-tiered infinity pool with memorable views, a stunning architectural design, and an outstanding spa. Rooms come with large soaking tubs, dual shower heads, modern amenities such as iPads and flat-screen TVs, balconies with plunge pools or hammocks, pillow menus, and authentic Mexican artwork and accents. Other perks include yoga classes, a sculpture garden, a golf course next door, an excellent fitness center (especially for a relatively small resort), personal concierge service, twice daily housekeeping, and an exquisite on-site seafood restaurant in Cocina del Mar (there are three other restaurants on-site as well). The shops, restaurants, and water sports of downtown Cabo San Lucas aren’t far, but aren’t quite within walking distance. Although it doesn’t score extremely well as a beach resort, make no mistake – Esperanza is one of the best luxury hotels in Mexico.
COVID-19 antigen testing is available on-site for $50 USD per test.
