After a $45 million renovation in 2017, this high-end, all-inclusive, adults-only resort is even more ideal for couples and honeymooners. The ocean can be a little rougher here than at most beaches in Punta Cana and there aren’t any off-site shops, restaurants or other attractions in the area; but the property offers excellent food for an all-inclusive, a great spa with couples treatments and a hydrotherapy circuit, a very nice beach with plenty of palapas and comfortable loungers, and an impressive fitness center with ample space and equipment. On-site cuisine variety is outstanding and reservations usually aren’t required at the restaurants. Accommodations are quite nice; they come with double jacuzzis, espresso machines, and furnished balconies or patios. Some also have swim-up access, private plunge pools, and/or ocean views. Upgrading to the Excellence Club comes with perks such as access to a private swimming pool, express check-in/check-out, Bulgari bath amenities, premium liquor and wine, and a private beach area. Activities include horseback riding, yoga and Pilates classes, scuba diving, dance classes, deep sea fishing, humpback whale watching, helicopter rides, private tennis lessons, and speedboat and catamaran tours.
The Excellence Collection has partnered with certified local labs to provide complimentary COVID-19 tests for guests whose home countries require a negative result to board a return flight. Testing is available on-site and free of charge (antigen tests for the US and UK, PCR tests for Canada).
