With one of the longest and most impressive swimming pools in all of Jamaica meandering through its grounds, plus a new water park with small water slides for kids, Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica caters well to families. The restaurants are just so-so (even for an all-inclusive), jetties on the beach take away from its natural beauty, the overall service receives inconsistent reviews from guests, and some elements of the property and rooms are dated; but the resort offers good dining variety, a fairly large beach by Jamaica standards, a kids club, an on-site spa, and an adults-only nude section of the beach. Rooms come with furnished balconies, jetted tubs, four-poster beds, and tiled floors. Activities include Hobie Cat sailing, beach volleyball, kayaking, scuba diving, horseback riding, parasailing, aerobics classes, free dive lessons in the pool, dance classes, and excursions to Dunn’s River Falls and other local attractions. The Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay (Baa1) next door shares some amenities (such as the spa and fitness center) but does not allow children.
Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts is offering the COVID-19 viral antigen test on-site and at no cost to guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received within 24-48 hours prior to departure as required by the CDC, in written and/or electronical format. Guests should contact the Front Desk upon arrival to schedule departure testing. In the event of a positive test, the affected guest and a companion can extend their stay up to 10 days at no additional cost. A three-night minimum stay is required to be eligible for both the free on-site test and the 10-day extension.
