Boasting Jamaica’s largest swimming pool, this Grand Palladium complex is in an isolated area near Montego Bay and comprises two properties – Grand Palladium Jamaica (Ba2) and Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton (the Lady Hamilton is a little quieter and better suited for couples, with slightly better rooms and an Overall Beach Resort Rating of Baa2, two notches above the Grand Palladium Jamaica). The narrow beach is manmade and has jetties (this factor has a negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating), the mostly lackluster food varies in quality, and there isn’t much at all in terms of shopping and dining in the surrounding area; but the complex offers top-notch cuisine variety (eight a la carte restaurants and three buffets), on-site shops, alluring adults-only and main swimming pools with Romanesque columns, a kids water park with small waterslides, a spacious fitness center, and an excellent spa with hydrotherapy areas. The rooms are relatively large and upscale; the adults-only Romance Villa Suites are a step up in terms of luxury. They’re also especially couples-friendly, equipped with double jacuzzis, terraces with hammocks, outdoor showers, ocean views, and private entrances. Activities include beach volleyball, archery, tennis (three high-quality courts), basketball, Hobie Cat sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, lively and well-reviewed water aerobics classes, and deep sea fishing. A fun entertainment team keeps beach games and other activities going throughout the day as well.
Free COVID-19 antigen tests are offered on-site to guests traveling back to countries that require it for re-entry, including the United States. In order to be eligible for the complimentary test, however, guests must be enrolled in the Palladium Rewards loyalty program before check-out (there is no cost for joining). Test results will be received the same day in digital format as required by the CDC. Guests should contact the Front Desk upon arrival to schedule. PCR tests are also available, at an additional fee. In the event of a positive test, the affected guest can quarantine at the hotel for up to 10 days at no additional cost, with up to three companions.
