An adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Runaway Bay, in Jamaica’s Ocho Rios region, Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa caters well to couples; it has a fairly social atmosphere at times and three impressive swim-up bars. The manmade beach is fairly unimpressive (but it has a decent amount of space by Jamaica standards), the spa and fitness facilities are just so-so (especially for a resort that prioritizes wellness), and the rooms have some dated elements; but the property offers three swimming pools (each has a swim-up bar, which is quite rare), nice outdoor jacuzzis, a wellness center with fitness classes, well-reviewed service, and very strong dining variety (seven restaurants and six bars and lounges; the Japanese restaurant gets the best reviews). Rooms come with private balconies or terraces, pillow menus, flat-screen TVs, and re-stocked minibars; some have ocean views and/or butler service. Activities include scuba diving, snorkeling, glass-bottom boat rides, spin and yoga classes, kayaking, sailing, hiking, tennis, beach volleyball, poolside movies, and excursions to Dunn’s River Falls and other local attractions. Greens fees at Runaway Bay Golf Course, a short drive down the street, are included.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are available for guests returning to the United States (minimum three-night stay required to qualify). In the event of a positive test, the resort offers up to a 50% discount for guests needing to quarantine until recovery, for up to 14 days (extended stays for up to 14 days are complimentary for guests that enroll in the resort’s Extended Stay protection program for $29 per person upon check-in).
