A massive hillside resort with four separate private beaches, verdant tropical foliage, friendly service, and an impressive eleven tennis courts, Las Brisas Huatulco is a good economy option for families. All four beaches (Secret Beach, Manzanillo Beach, Tornillo Beach, and Ventura Beach) are fairly small and a shuttle is needed to get to them from the rooms, but they have a secluded feel that’s somewhat rare in Mexico. The restaurants are just so-so; but the property offers very high quality rooms for the price (especially the Suite level rooms, as opposed to the Deluxe level), strong cuisine variety at six on-site restaurants, multiple swimming pool areas (including an adults-only pool), a decent gym, a kids club, and an excellent spa with ESPA treatments and Swiss showers. Most rooms come with an abundance of space, including larger-than-average private balconies (all room types have balconies except the Deluxe rooms, which is the most basic level). Activities include sailing, kayaking, jet skiing, soccer (there’s a grass field), top-notch tennis with eleven courts and lights for night play, on-site snorkeling, and indoor and outdoor yoga classes. A fun entertainment team keeps activities going throughout the day, but the property is large enough for the atmosphere to be social in some places and quite quiet in others.
