Resort Profile

A budget-friendly, all-inclusive option on Grand Cayman’s renowned Seven Mile Beach, Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman caters well to both families and couples with a fun atmosphere and beach chic rooms that are decidedly high-quality for the price point. The Jimmy Buffett-owned hotel brand is named after the singer/songwriter’s trademark song, about a state of mind inspired by a certain frozen concoction. All-inclusive plans are available but not obligatory. The rock jetty that extends from the beach out to the ocean is a bit of an eyesore (the plus side of this is that it creates a protected area with calm, kid-friendly water for swimming), the disappointing fitness center lacks natural light, and there’s no spa; but the property offers five fairly good on-site restaurants named after Buffett’s songs and lyrics (“5 O’Clock Somewhere,” for example), two swimming pool areas with a swim-up bar (a rarity in Grand Cayman), free high-quality bicycles for rent, in-room massages, a nice retail store, and a kids club for ages 4-12. Rooms come with trendy whitewashed wood flooring and contemporary wood furniture that accentuate the beach chic/boat style, large flat-screen TVs, walk-in showers, Keurig coffee makers, private balconies, white bedding with Caribbean-inspired sheets, and West Indies-inspired wet bars with in-room coolers. Activities include jet skiing, banana boat rides, sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, daily happy hours (most days have two daily happy hours), group fitness classes plus personal training sessions, yoga classes on the beach and by the pool, and live entertainment including well-known local bands.
