Less than five minutes from the airport and within walking distance of Marina Vallarta (where there’s a plethora of shops, restaurants, and water sports), this Marriott property is one of Puerto Vallarta’s very best values (the TripValue is +5, which is outstanding) and caters well to both families and couples. Airplane noise can be noticeable, the beach is relatively small and underwhelming, and the kids club isn’t free; but the resort offers a very large infinity pool, quality facilities at Ohtli Spa (and fitness center), good restaurants and cuisine variety, an impressive sports bar with large screens, a beautiful lobby and outdoor patio area, a ceviche and tequila bar with over 180 tequilas, strong overall service, and excellent (and recently renovated) rooms for the price with spacious balconies. There is an optional all-inclusive package. Rooms come with balconies or terraces, large flat-screen TVs with Netflix, pillowtop mattresses, and modern furnishings. Water sports at Marina Vallarta next door include deep sea fishing, sailing, whale watching, and scuba diving, among others.
Complimentary COVID-19 testing for U.S. re-entry is available on-site (complimentary antigen tests are provided for two guests per room staying three consecutive nights or longer).
