A solid mid-range, all-inclusive resort with a lively atmosphere, Now Larimar Punta Cana caters well to families. The food gets mixed reviews, which is unusual for this particular brand, and timeshare sales pitches can be a nuisance; but the property offers four freshwater swimming pools with different atmospheres (one with activities, one for kids, one that’s quiet, etc.), an outstanding beachfront (this factor upgrades the Overall Beach Resort Rating into the A range), a nightclub, a casino, separate kids and teens clubs, solid spa and fitness facilities, outstanding restaurant variety, and a highly unique sports bar with bowling lanes. Other unique amenities include a rock climbing wall and a baseball batting cage. Rooms are clean, fairly modern, and brightly colored; they come with private balconies or terraces, Gilchrist & Soames bath products, and stocked minibars. Upgrading to the Preferred Club comes with additional perks such as better minibars, pillow menus, two private lounges, two private bars, two private pools, an exclusive restaurant open for breakfast and lunch, easier check-in/check-out, and complimentary iPad access. Activities include sailing, parasailing, evening entertainment and theme parties, tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, and banana boat rides.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
