A sleek upper-mid-range resort perched on a wide, beautiful beachfront, the all-inclusive Now Onyx Punta Cana caters well to both couples and families. Opened in 2016 and boasting a +3 TripValue, it’s one of Punta Cana’s newest resorts and better bargains. The property offers excellent overall service, two freshwater infinity pools with swim-up bars, three other pools (including a saltwater pool), above-average food for a Dominican all-inclusive, separate kids and teens clubs, a casino, a nightclub, an ice cream shop, a spacious fitness center, a good spa, quality tennis courts, and outstanding dining variety (7 restaurants and 10 bars). The rooms are bright and modern, with tasteful bamboo décor, furnished balconies or terraces with whirlpools, Gilchrist & Soames bath products, and free Wi-Fi; all ground suites have swim-out access. Upgrading to the Preferred Club will give you a suite in a premium location and access to other perks such as two private lounges. Adult guests also have access to the restaurants and other amenities of Breathless Punta Cana (A1) next door, the adults-only sister property. Activities include horseback riding, fishing, snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, kayaking, kite surfing classes (unique), ATV excursions, big screen movies on the beach, live entertainment at the open-air theater, and dance and Spanish classes. Other excursions such as cave expeditions and jungle ziplining can be arranged, too. There’s a weekly market at the Breathless next door with local art, jewelry, and other items.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
