One of the lower-priced options along the Riviera Nayarit, Occidental Nuevo Vallarta offers high quality rooms for the price and a good location for those looking to venture off-site. Dining variety is a little below average for an all-inclusive, there’s no on-site spa (which is rare for the area), the food is just so-so overall, and some king beds are actually two twins pushed together; but the resort has a nice swimming pool area, a solid beachfront with beach volleyball, a quality tennis court, a game room with foosball and billiards, and a good fitness center. Rooms come with one king or two double beds, re-stocked minibars, flat-screen TVs, and air conditioning with individual control. There’s an entertainment team that runs activities throughout the day and live shows are offered at night, but the overall atmosphere is also fairly relaxed. Off-site shops and restaurants and a good selection of water sports (including jet skiing, parasailing, and more) are available within walking distance.
On-site COVID-19 testing is offered prior to departure, but it isn’t complimentary.
