A decent boutique economy option near downtown Basseterre in St. Kitts, the Ocean Terrace Inn offers low rates and a convenient location; it attracts both vacationers and business travelers. Although the hotel has views of Basseterre Bay, there’s no beach on-site or within walking distance (this has a very strong negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating, lowering it from the B range to the C range), but a free 10-minute shuttle to a nearby beach runs daily. The hotel does not have elevators and on-site activities are very limited; but the property offers a nice lagoon-style pool with waterfalls and a swim-up bar, two on-site restaurants including Fisherman’s Wharf (one of the better seafood restaurants on the island), and a fairly good fitness center (especially for a small boutique hotel). Shopping, restaurants, and the Basseterre Ferry Terminal are within walking distance. The 34 rooms and suites have private furnished balconies or patios, desks, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and flat-screen TVs. The front desk can arrange excursions such as scuba diving, snorkeling, and hiking trips.
