An economical option conveniently located in the St. Lawrence Gap (which is known in Barbados for its bars, restaurants, shops, and nightlife), Ocean Two Resort & Residences caters well to both families and couples with quality accommodations for the price point and great overall service; with a +2 TripValue, it’s one of the island’s better deals. There’s no full on-site spa and there’s just one on-site restaurant; but the property offers a fairly large beach area with white sand (although its protective rock jetty feature is somewhat of an eyesore), a pool with plush loungers surrounding it and a swim-up bar, a second (very small) rooftop pool and lounge area with beautiful ocean views, a decent fitness center, an open-air restaurant with more ocean views, in-room spa treatments, and private beachside dining for couples or families (while somewhat prevalent for couples, this offering is unique for families in the Caribbean). Rooms come with king or queen beds, ceiling fans, flat-screen TVs, Gilchrist & Soames bath amenities, and more modern décor than similarly-priced resorts in Barbados; all have balconies with ocean or bay views. All suites have fully equipped kitchens, living and dining areas, and washer/dryers. Activities include Hobie Cat sailing with lessons, kayaking, windsurfing, and beach games and movies under the stars for kids; surfing and body surfing are also possible (Barry’s Surf School, with lessons for beginners, is right next door). An excellent selection of off-site shops and restaurants is available within easy walking distance.
All travelers to Barbados are required to present proof of a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at a an accredited or recognized laboratory within three days prior to arrival. It is also necessary to complete your on-line immigration and customs form by going to www.travelform.gov.bb. The form should be completed 24 hours prior to arrival, and preferably include the upload of your negative COVID-19 PCR test result. Travelers will be required to retest with a COVID-19 PCR test 5 days (120 hours) after their arrival in the country. If the result of that second PCR test is negative, that traveler can now enjoy unrestricted movement to public spaces (including the beach). Guests from High and Medium Category countries (which currently includes the UK, the US and Canada) must quarantine in their rooms until the second test is negative.
