Offering spacious suites and expansive three-story, three-bedroom villas with full kitchens, the all-inclusive Omni Cancun Hotel & Villas caters well to families and larger groups; it’s one of the better mid-priced all-inclusives in the area. The rooms have a slightly dated feel (but are quite clean and still a good value), there isn’t much in terms of shopping and nightlife in the immediate vicinity, and some guests complain of watered-down drinks; but the property boasts an excellent white-sand beach with plenty of space plus palapas and lounge chairs (this factor elevates the Overall Beach Resort Rating into the A range), a highly unique beachfront jacuzzi swim-up bar (a major highlight here), 24-hour room service, impressive overall service for the price range, strong dining variety (six restaurants plus an outdoor sushi bar), above average food for an all-inclusive, three swimming pools, a fairly nice spa with a good selection of treatments, a moderately strong fitness center, and a great beach volleyball court. Accommodations come with marble floors and baths, balconies or patios, and flat-screen TVs; the three-story, three-bedroom villas have over 2,000 square feet of space. Activities include tennis, beach volleyball, a seasonal baby sea turtle release program (May through November), kids parties and other kid-friendly activities, deep sea fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling tours, and mangrove jet ski tours. Spanish lessons, bingo and trivia games, and dance lessons (salsa, merengue, cumbia) are also available on-site.
