An adults-only, all-inclusive property with quiet beach and pool areas, the Platinum Yucatan Princess All Suites & Spa Resort caters well to couples. The mid-priced beach resort is located just north of Playa del Carmen, on Mexico’s Riviera Maya. The food is fairly typical for an all-inclusive (inconsistent and not overly impressive, for the most part), rooms don’t have ocean views, the fitness center is basic and tired, and the overall service gets somewhat mixed reviews; but the resort offers a tranquil white-sand beachfront (despite some occasional seaweed; the beach still has a positive effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating), quality rooms for the price with a modern vibe and jacuzzis and swim-out suites available, strong on-site restaurant variety (six options to choose from), six tennis courts, two paddle tennis courts, quiet trails and other natural areas, and a large wraparound swim-up bar in the main swimming pool. Activities include beach volleyball, pool volleyball, yoga and Pilates, archery, water polo, stand-up paddleboarding, and more. Guests have access to the amenities of family-friendly sister resort Grand Riviera Princess (Baa2) next door as well, including a 1950s-themed milkshake bar and ice cream parlor, fire shows and other entertainment, multiple bars, a spa with a hydrotherapy circuit, a nightclub, and eight adults-only pools.
On-site COVID-19 testing prior to departure is available for a fee ($35 for rapid antigen tests and $125 for PCR tests).
