Named after the sleepy nearby surf town, the secluded Rincon Beach Resort is technically located in Añasco, which is a little south of Rincon along Puerto Rico’s west coast. Its tranquil, laid-back atmosphere caters best to couples looking for some R&R. The rooms are basic and dated, the beach is very small after suffering erosion from Hurricane Maria in 2017 (this factor lowers the Overall Beach Resort Rating from the lower B range to the upper C range), on-site activities are almost non-existent (a pro for some), there’s no spa, and the fitness center is tiny and disappointing; but the property offers a fairly good Caribbean Fusion restaurant, a poolside grill, a swim-up bar, giant chess, and a very quiet beach with good water for swimming. Accommodations range from standard rooms to two-bedroom suites; the two-bedroom suites come with separate living rooms with queen sofa beds, dining rooms, and fully equipped kitchens. Activities in the vicinity include kayaking, whale watching, sailing, snorkeling, surfing and scuba diving.
As Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the United States, the CDC COVID-19 testing requirement for U.S. travelers re-entering the U.S. from international destinations does not apply.
