An economical all-inclusive option in Jamaica’s Ocho Rios region, Royal Decameron Club Caribbean caters well to budget-minded families and couples with relatively high quality accommodations for the price. The beach is small and manmade, the pool is also small and relatively lackluster (together, these factors have a strong negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating, lowering it from the middle B range to the upper C range), there’s no spa, dining variety is below average for an all-inclusive (there are just three on-site restaurants), and the food gets mixed to underwhelming reviews; but the property offers verdant grounds, a calm ocean for swimming, a (second) adults-only quiet pool, an on-site gift shop, and charming cottage-style rooms with a slightly rustic (if dated) vibe. The fitness center has a decent selection of equipment but could use a refresh. The three room types are the Cottage Rooms (120 have garden views and 33 have ocean views), the Courtyard Rooms (all 20 have a more secluded garden setting), and the Suites, which have the best views (located on higher ground, 12 have ocean views and 8 have mountain views). Activities include free dive lessons in the pool, bikes for rent, tennis, basketball, sailing, kayaking, beach volleyball (on a subpar court), archery, and giant chess.
On-site COVID-19 testing is not available, but the front desk can help facilitate departure testing with a local lab.
