The very first Sandals resort, Sandals Montego Bay was refurbished in 2018; it’s a couples-only property with renovated rooms, 12 unique restaurants, and six full-service bars including a British pub. Like most in the Sandals chain, the atmosphere here is lively and social, with ample opportunities to meet other couples. Airplane noise is noticeable because Sangster International Airport is right next door; but the resort offers outstanding dining variety (again, there are 12 on-site restaurants) with good food for an all-inclusive, six pools, three whirlpools, a large swim-up bar, a new open-air lobby, a new wedding chapel, strong spa and fitness facilities, excellent service including a fun entertainment team that keeps activities going throughout the day, a fairly good beach for the area, and exchange privileges with two other nearby Sandals. Robert Mondavi wines and Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee are also included. Rooms come with four-poster beds, mahogany furnishings, and modern spa-style bathrooms; most have deep soaking tubs for two (some are outside) and some come with swim-out access and/or butler service. Activities include sailing, beach volleyball (on a good court), tennis, kayaking, yoga and Pilates classes, rock climbing, scuba diving, snorkeling, glass bottom boat rides, water skiing, tubing, windsurfing, and stand-up paddleboarding. All of the above activities are included in the rate. Reggae sunset cruises, off-road safaris, deep sea fishing, rum tours, and other excursions to Dunn’s River Falls and other local attractions can also be arranged at an additional cost.
Complimentary COVID-19 tests are provided on-site for guests prior to departure.
