With three cascading infinity pools, an excellent white-sand beach, a mostly quiet atmosphere, and robust spa and fitness facilities, Sandos Cancun caters well to couples; it’s one of Cancun’s best wellness resorts. Timeshare sales pitches can be a nuisance, dining variety is only decent for an all-inclusive (four eateries are open for dinner), and there’s no swim-up bar; but the resort offers very good restaurants for an all-inclusive (and most have alluring ocean views), a beautiful 15,000-square-foot spa with a good selection of treatments, an impressive 7,000-square-foot fitness center with ample equipment and natural light (and a separate spinning studio), 24-hour room service, a commendable hotel staff (guests rave about the service), and the aforementioned tiered infinity pool area (which is highly unique). The rooms are fairly elegant for the price, though some aspects of them show slight wear and tear and not all have balconies. Activities include deep sea fishing (in the immediate vicinity), tennis (two courts on-site), beach volleyball (two good courts), wine tastings, and quality yoga classes. Aquaworld is also within walking distance; the impressive selection of water sports there includes excellent scuba diving, parasailing, snorkeling with whale sharks and other marine life, Flowrider surfing, jet skiing, jet boat rides, deep sea fishing, Flyboarding, jungle boat tours, day trips to Isla Mujeres, and more.
Departure COVID-19 antigen tests are available on-site on a complimentary basis for guests traveling to the United States. Results take an average of 24 hours. In the event of a positive test, guests can extend their stay for up to 14 days at no additional cost.
