Resort Profile

A lively all-inclusive, adults only resort near downtown Puerto Vallarta, Secrets Vallarta Bay caters well to both couples and singles with plenty of activities. Some restaurants and other amenities are located at kid-friendly sister property Now Amber next door and timeshare pitches are a little aggressive for a higher-end resort; but the property offers very good food for an all-inclusive, an excellent swimming pool area with a fun swim-up bar, a new casino opened in 2018, an open-air theatre with live entertainment, and an outstanding 14,000-square-foot spa with treatments such as seaweed body wraps and hot stone therapy (couples treatments are offered). The beach is only decent, but it’s decidedly above average for the downtown Puerto Vallarta area. The hotel’s 271 beautiful accommodations come with marble floors, private balconies or terraces, complimentary mini bars, and luxurious perks such as butler service. Activities include jet skiing, beach volleyball, parasailing, horseback riding, scuba diving, snorkeling, Hobie Cat sailing, seasonal yoga classes, and much more. There’s also an excellent selection of off-site shops and restaurants within walking distance; the Malecon Boardwalk isn’t too far, either (its a quick taxi ride).

Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.

The TripValue score compares a resort’s Overall Beach Resort Rating to its average room price (which we express as the Price-Implied Rating). It tells you if the resort is relatively underpriced (a positive TripValue), overpriced (a negative TripValue), or fairly priced (an Even TripValue), on average.
