The best beach resort in St. Kitts by a very wide margin, St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino is an excellent value (the TripValue is +4); it caters well to both families and couples with surprisingly low rates and a high quality, spacious beachfront with cabana huts. The beach can get windy and have seaweed at times, the food is a little overpriced and gets somewhat mixed reviews, and on-site activities are limited (especially water sports); but the property offers three large lagoon-style swimming pool areas with plenty of patio space and lounge chairs, great dining variety at five on-site restaurants plus a pizza shack and a sushi bar, a good selection of treatments at the Emerald Mist Spa, an excellent fitness center with modern equipment, four tennis courts, a links-style golf course with ocean views from some holes, an on-site casino, a professional and pleasant staff, and fairly contemporary rooms. Rooms come with comfortable beds, flat-screen TVs, and tile flooring; some rooms have private balconies and suites come with fully equipped kitchens. Activities in the area (not on-site) include scuba diving, horseback riding, rainforest ziplining, jet skiing, surfing, catamaran sailing, snorkeling, glass-bottom kayak tours, and ATV tours. Historical city walking tours of Basseterre, volcano hikes up Mount Liamuiga, and train rides on St. Kitts Scenic Railway can also be arranged. Off-site shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity are lacking, but there’s a strip of bars and casual shack-style restaurants along Frigate Bay Beach, a few minutes away by car.
On-site COVID-19 departure testing is not available, but the front desk can help connect guests with local testing providers.
