Resort Profile

An upper-mid-range all-inclusive resort in the Garrison Historic Area of Barbados (a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former location of the British Military headquarters in the Caribbean), Sugar Bay Barbados caters well to families. The beach is on the small side (though its hammocks and its peaceful, secluded feel at least partially make up for its lack of size), the rooms are underwhelming and dated for the average price point, the fitness center is so-so at best, on-site activities are very limited, and the all-inclusive package doesn’t cover fare at the on-site coffee shop; but the property offers a fairly good swimming pool area with a swim-up bar, two beachside restaurants with al fresco dining (plus a steakhouse and an Asian Fusion restaurant also on-site; the food, for the most part, is above average for an all-inclusive), separate kids and teens clubs, a good on-site spa, and a mostly relaxed overall atmosphere. Rooms come with furnished balconies or terraces, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, tea/coffee makers, and bath amenities by The White Company. Activities include sightseeing tours (can be arranged by the Activities Desk), foosball, air hockey, billiards, boogie boarding, and bodysurfing. Downtown Bridgetown is just a few minutes away. Off-site shops and restaurants are within walking distance, as is the Barbados Museum & Historical Society.

All travelers to Barbados are required to present proof of a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at a an accredited or recognized laboratory within three days prior to arrival. It is also necessary to complete your on-line immigration and customs form by going to www.travelform.gov.bb. The form should be completed 24 hours prior to arrival, and preferably include the upload of your negative COVID-19 PCR test result. Travelers will be required to retest with a COVID-19 PCR test 5 days (120 hours) after their arrival in the country. If the result of that second PCR test is negative, that traveler can now enjoy unrestricted movement to public spaces (including the beach). Guests from High and Medium Category countries (which currently includes the UK, the US and Canada) must quarantine in their rooms until the second test is negative.
