A solid mid-range option for families, the recently renovated, all-inclusive Sunscape Cove Montego Bay has plenty for kids, including access to the water park next door at sister property Sunscape Splash (B2), which is less relaxed in terms of atmosphere and more crowded with children (but also has lower rates). Many amenities are located next door and not right on-site (the fitness center and spa, for example, in addition to the water park), the beach is on the narrow side, and timeshare sales pitches can be aggressive; but the resort offers excellent dining variety (seven restaurants), fairly good food for an all-inclusive, separate kids and teens clubs, complimentary room service for most of the day, and milk and cookies for kids. The rooms are modern and clean, with a chic tropical vibe. They come with large flat-screen TVs, furnished balconies or terraces, and re-stocked minibars; some have bunk beds. Activities include scuba diving, snorkeling tours, great on-site snorkeling (Montego Bay Marine Park, Jamaica’s first underwater National Park, is just offshore), rock climbing, dance classes, kayaking, Hobie Cat sailing, mini golf, beach volleyball (on a subpar court), and movies on the beach. The water park has a pirate ship, two large waterslides, and a lazy river. There isn’t much in the surrounding area, but a marina with deep sea fishing and a Hard Rock Café are within walking distance.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
