A former Holiday Inn that was renovated and reopened in 2015, Sunscape Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa caters well to families. The atmosphere isn’t ideal for those looking for seclusion or peace and quiet; but the property offers one of the widest beachfronts in the downtown Puerto Vallarta area, a large swimming pool with a swim-up bar, a kids club with activities and games including air hockey and foosball, a separate teens club, newly-renovated rooms with balconies and flat-screen TVs, two tennis courts, and beachside massages. On-site restaurant variety is outstanding (there are 10 dining options), though not all restaurants are open every day. Activities include beach volleyball, jet skiing, scuba diving, water polo, fishing, Zumba and yoga classes, and wine and tequila tastings; a fun entertainment staff keeps activities going throughout the day. There’s also a seasonal sea turtle release program from July through December. An excellent selection of off-site shops and restaurants is available at La Isla Shopping Village right next door.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
