A romantic 28-room boutique resort set on 19 peaceful acres on the south end of Antigua, The Inn at English Harbour boasts impeccable service and caters very well to couples. The beach has a secluded feel, but it’s also quite narrow (this factor has a negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating, downgrading it to the lower A range). The fitness center is small, with limited equipment (even for a boutique hotel). However, the property offers high quality turf tennis courts, excellent on-site dining (there isn’t much variety, which is to be expected for a small hotel – but the restaurants feature Italian and Caribbean fare), meditation sessions, and a beautiful spa with minimalist Asian and Caribbean accents. The elegant rooms come with marble and mahogany floors, ocean views, four-poster beds, private verandahs, and flat-screen TVs; the Beach Cabana rooms are directly on the beach. There’s an impressive array of activities available, too, which is uncommon for a quiet boutique property; this is mostly due to the resort’s close proximity to Nelson’s Dockyard Marina (guests can take a water taxi to get there); the marina offers shops, restaurants, sightseeing, and water sports (such as premier sailing charters, sailing courses, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and sunset cruises).
The government of Antigua and Barbuda mandates that guests arriving by air must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within seven (7) days of their flight. Departure COVID-19 testing is available on-site, but it isn’t complimentary.
