One of the most impressive all-inclusive resorts for families in the entire Cancun area, Villa del Palmar Cancun Luxury Beach Resort & Spa boasts state-of-the-art amenities, commendable overall service, and a contemporary Mexican design, with attractive multi-colored exteriors. It’s located on Playa Mujeres, away from the bustle of the Hotel Zone; the ferry to Isla Mujeres is directly on-site. Timeshare sales pitches can annoy, there can be waits at the restaurants, there’s no swim-up bar or tennis courts, and the beach here is smaller and somewhat less impressive than those in the Hotel Zone; but the property offers an outstanding network of five swimming pools (the pool area is among the very best in Cancun), a bar with swing seats right on the beach, quality drinks, excellent restaurants (especially for an all-inclusive) with strong cuisine variety (six options to choose from), a modern fitness center, a beautiful spa with couples wraps/massages and hydrotherapy set among verdant tropical gardens, and a good amount of activities and amenities for kids (including an inflatable aqua park, a kids club, and various games). Up to two-bedroom suites are available; rooms are equipped with large balconies, washer/dryers, flat-screen TVs, modern wooden furnishings, full kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and fully-stocked wet bars. Activities include beach volleyball, kayaking, cooking classes, dance classes, snorkeling, Spanish lessons, yoga classes, beach soccer, paddleboarding, horseshoes, and bocce. Additional water sports are available on Isla Mujeres.
On-site COVID-19 antigen testing is available for guests prior to returning to the United States, but it isn’t complimentary (although guests will receive a resort credit equal to the cost of the test, which they can spend at the resort during their stay). In the event of a positive test, the guest can extend their stay for up to 14 nights at no additional cost (room only).
