A small, quiet boutique hotel on Isla Mujeres, just off the coast of Cancun, the all-inclusive Zoetry Villa Rolandi caters well to couples with impeccable service and top-notch on-site dining. The tiny beach has a very strong negative effect on the TripValue and the Overall Beach Resort Rating (downgrading the latter from the upper A range to the upper B range), the fitness center is very small and basic, some areas feel a bit dated, and some amenities that you’d find at larger, full-scale resorts are lacking (such as tennis courts and a swim-up bar); but the property offers three beautiful swimming pool areas (which is impressive for a hotel of this size), one of Isla Mujeres’ best restaurants in Casa Rolandi, a second gourmet restaurant on-site, a private yacht with complimentary sunset cruises, and a beautiful spa with thalassotherapy and massages. Each of the 35 suites comes with Bulgari bath amenities, fine quality linens, large private terraces with ocean views (some have jacuzzis), sitting areas with sofas, daily re-stocked minibars, 24-hour in-suite private dining, a bottle of sparkling wine and fresh fruit daily, a welcome bottle of tequila, large flat-screen TVs, pillow menus, ceiling fans, bathrooms with therapeutic showers, and maid service three times daily. Activities are somewhat limited, but include yoga classes, snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, and sailing. Other beaches are nearby and can be accessed by golf cart, which is the island’s main method of transport. Overall, this Zoetry resort is a first-rate property, especially for those that don’t mind a subpar on-site beach.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
