A great choice for families with plenty of activities, this Dreams property features recently renovated accommodations; it reopened in June 2015 after repairing damages from Hurricane Odile in September 2014. The ocean is usually too rough for swimming (this is common in the area because of the undertow, and has a negative effect on the Overall Beach Resort Rating) and off-site shops and restaurants within walking distance are lacking; but the resort offers very good food for an all-inclusive, excellent restaurant variety, three swimming pools (including an adults-only pool), solid spa and fitness facilities, and a great kids club. The rooms come with spacious balconies, large flat-screen TVs, elegant furnishings, ceiling fans, and minibars. Upgrading to the Preferred Club level comes with perks such as upgraded minibars and bath amenities, pillow menus, access to an exclusive lounge with afternoon hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, and spa privileges. Activities include yoga, Pilates, golf (the Cabo Real Golf Club is just across the street, and there are several other championship courses in the area), beach volleyball (the court is above average), horseback riding, Spanish lessons, dance classes, cooking and cocktail lessons, tequila tastings, movies on the beach at night, seasonal sea turtle hatchings (July through December), and various water sports.
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
